Why Me?

You may be wondering why I decided to produce a page

about Turvey - especially as I live in Northamptonshire!

I have Turvey ancestry on both my mother's and father's lines and was myself baptised in the Parish Church.  I have numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who still live in Turvey .  It is only 10 or so miles from my home and I visit there a lot.

When I was little I was bridesmaid at my second-cousin's wedding in the church - I looked very sweet in a Seventies, bright, shiny, pink dress - I described the colour as 'awful pink' (and meant this as a compliment!)

As an adult I was thrilled to be a 'maid of honour' when my sister got married in the Parish Church - I got to wear classy cream this time!

My father is a well known local historian who shares my love of Turvey - he was born in the old Tinkers Inn (now the village stores) and grew up in the village. He has a wonderful collection of picture postcards and ephemera of the village, many of which are featured on this site (thank you, dad).

If you are looking for a particular Turvey family or require something I have not yet included please email me.

I would also be grateful to receive any material I could add to this site to share with fellow researchers -I will of course acknowledge your contribution on the site.

Names of Turvey families I am personally studying

Details of my research into these families are on the FAMILIES page of this site  - if you have other Turvey family information or additional details of these names then I would love to hear from you!

Sharing information - we all benefit!
